Perhaps you simply made a lasting impression. It wouldn't be the first time. And, before you level an accusation of any potential encouragement on my part -- I have tried to correct him.
At this point I think he simply doesn't wish to identify you any other way.
I've yet to determine if it's warranted or not. There is more to him than meets the eye, however, I'm just not certain as to why he is going to great pains to hide his true nature.
